In this advanced placement course, students analyze the development of the United States from its founding to the present through political, social, economic, and cultural forces. They will evaluate multiple perspectives, construct evidence-based arguments, and examine primary and secondary sources.

  • Analyze the political, social, and economic development of the United States
  • Read and write as historians using primary and secondary sources
  • Engage in debates and historical simulations
  • Prepare for the AP U.S. History examination
  • Expect a minimum of 3 hours of homework per week
