Junior High Academic Program Department

Bellevue Christian School’s Junior High program provides a holistic and engaging experience for students in grades seven and eight. Junior High students are unique in their development and therefore require a specialized educational environment which considers their personal, academic, spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs.

  • Junior High teachers at BCS feel called to teach and disciple students
  • Program designed to help students become more grounded in their faith, develop skills as independent learners and grow in their ability to relate to others in a godly fashion
  • Broad spectrum of learning and growth opportunities
  • Our goal is to develop these skills in a “high challenge, low threat” environment, characterized by students being known, challenged, and loved

JH Skills: all students rotate through four quarter-long “perspective” courses that meet once a week

JH Office Hours: an opportunity for students to self-advocate, make up assessments and seek additional support, or advancement in subject areas of choice

Students also enjoy a “7th grade experience” and an 8th grade retreat (costs billed to tuition)

Students are ability-placed in math courses

In addition to the core, we offer a broad assortment of exploratory courses to provide a rich and varied experience
