This course provides a comprehensive study of United States history from the founding of the nation through the present. Students examine political, social, economic, and cultural developments while developing historical reasoning and analytical skills. 

• Analyze key events and themes in U.S. history from the nation’s founding to the early twenty-first century, including multiple perspectives on social, political, and economic issues 
• Develop historical arguments using primary and secondary sources, incorporating counter-arguments and multiple perspectives 
• Conduct research and produce written historical analyses that connect themes across units 
• Engage in argumentative writing, discussion, and projects to defend positions and support claims with evidence 
• Apply historical reasoning to understand how past events continue to shape contemporary American society
